Greetings ..
Welcome to my (Alan Radley) writings, work and contact information.
I cultivate wide-ranging interests in science & technology, philosophy and fitness training.
Hologram Mirror
Recently I was granted a Patent for the ”Hologram Mirror”, being a new type of mirror for use in cosmetic and medical applications. How does it differ from ordinary mirrors ? Well a plane mirror forms a rather cluttered image of the observer (perceptually) which must compete with images of all those objects which happen to be within the field of view of the plane mirror. Additionally plane mirror images are not truly ‘life-like’; being hidden and somewhat inaccessible as they are behind a glass screen.
My method produces an image which floats in space infront of the mirror surface !
It also overcomes all of the drawbacks of plane mirror systems, and additionally provides
new capabilities to the observer.

Global-Opt
Global Opt is a LIVE optical modelling tool that I have developed in Java. Global-Opt combines live ray-tracing and new kinds of interactive graphics to facilitate the real-time design of optical systems; including lenses and cameras.
Global aims to surpass the capabilities of current tools in terms of reality, subtlety and sophistication of modelling. You can learn more at www.globalopt.eu.
Spectasia
I have a longstanding interest in the design of efficient user interfaces and new interaction techniques.
For example, a few years ago I developed Spectasia, a novel information navigator.
Spectasia was designed according to my own concept of A Lookable User Interface, and there have been over 50,000 downloads of the software, which also appeared on both a Mac World cover and a PC Magazine cover. (2004 – 2009)
Fitness
I maintain a keen interest in physical fitness, and I have written two books in this area; entitled “The Illustrated History of Physical Culture” (1991) and also (with David Gentle): “Classic Muscle Art: Muscular Ideals and Inspirations” (2011). Both books can be found at www.lulu.com or www.amazon.com.
I run my own personal fitness training business, and for more information visit: www.super-fit.co.
Thank you for your attention, and I hope you can visit again soon ..
